Guest Artist Exhibition: Stephen Towns: A Path Between Two Continents

“A Path Between Two Continents” is a collection of Stephen Towns’s work unearthing stories from America’s history in order to provide the artist a means to reconcile its past. Adopting religious iconography and motifs, the artist uses painting, quilting, and mixed media works to illuminate various narratives from the Middle Passage and American’s history of slavery. Rather than create a monument of pain, the artist chooses to create a monument of resilience.
